Change or improve practice in an area of mathematics through structured approaches to teacher support and professional development.

This can include:

​

  • Lesson observation/learning walk and feedback

  • Book looks, planning audits and pupil interviews

  • Developing and embedding practice through teacher coaching and team teaching.

  • Joint panning of sequences of lessons (e.g. focusing on the 5 big ideas of mathematics mastery)

  • Learning study – This powerful CPD tool involves teachers collaborating in a small group to plan, teach then evaluate a lesson.  The revised lesson is then taught by another member of the group and the process is repeated. 

 

Target audience: Whole staff, key stage/phase, teachers, Teaching Assistants, parents
